As a family of 4, we stayed at the hotel for a Christmas overnight break. It was a great option for an experience rather than stuff as a gift.
Fairly good value all round. We stayed in a moonvoyage room. Breakfast was great with plenty of food options. Included 2 hours at the splash park, which was great fun. Also, a panto and 9 holes of golf which kept us entertained. Limited theme park opening was still OK. The pirate bay was more age appropriate and we loved the sea life area.
Evening meal was fab, but sadly not included and a bit costly.
Lost a star based on the "tired" room and not truly communicating that with older kids, there wasn't as much to do.
We knew the theme park was limited opening, but CBeebies land, although open was too small. The beds for the kids were also limited on space.
It would also be advisable to book a late time for the panto, or have a larger show with a lower age limit. We opted for 1930hrs to fit with an early dinner, but the younger kids and their parents at the show were both noisy and distracting for the actors and audience alike.

Fantastic day out, reasonable price for a whole day out. Went just before halloween, so the park was quiet, got on everything. Shame the cable cars are still not running as the walking around takes a lot of your time and quite tiring. Can be expensive for food and drinks. It might be an idea to take some with you. Car park is chargeable.

Can't faul it at all. This was my first theme park and loved every minute. The park is clearly maintained, we saw plenty of cleaning staff around and the gardens looked pristine.
Clear queue timers on the app so you know what to expect, rides were an adrenaline thrill and plenty of food and drink stations. There was one incident of someone throwing up on a ride but they were quick to clean up and get the ride going again.

We had a wonderful time as a family for my grandson's birthday. We went on a Monday, which was quiet, and the weather was dry. I didn't go on anything but the family went on everything by 1.30 pm, which was great. We had a buffet lunch, and having the Merlin pass enabled us to get discounts off of food, drinks, and free parking. I hired a scooter to get around as there's lots of hills and walking. All the toilets, food places and the park were very clean. The Sea Life Centre was great with lots of beautiful sea creatures.

Visited today (on an inset day for my children) and it was brilliant, hardly any queues, on any rides. Stayed in the enchanted village too (was clean, cosy and comfortable). Fantastic day out, would thoroughly recommend it. Wouldn’t usually but we paid for a couple of fast track solo rides (£10 per person, per ride) just to avoid the couple of queues that were 30+ minute. Really impressed as it took you directly to the front of the queue. Lots of food outlets and many outside seating areas too. Best rides had to be The Smiler, Nemesis and Galactica. Great family day out. Can’t wait to come again.

I've visited several times this year. My last visit wasn't great but I won't let that put me off visiting again. Amazing rides, beautiful scenery. I love how many trees there are. Metal and nature combined. That's a true theme park in my eyes. That's heaven on earth

We had a great day at Alton Towers this October with plenty to do for adults, a teenager and a 10 year old. The queue times varied throughout the day so having the App is an absolute must. We were able to nip back and forth to rides as the queue times went down meaning we didn’t wait long that 30 minutes for anything with most being about 20 minutes. Several rides closed throughout the day but were back open quickly. My only complaint would be that the sky ride wasn’t working at all all day and it’s a really big park so lots of backwards and forwards walking.
