Lovely ride over to the Suffolk town of Aldeburgh home to Benjamin Britten. It is said he founded the nearby Snape Maltings in 1948. Stunning scenery, Blue flag beaches, beautiful quaint colourful cottages and sea front houses dating back to 1529. The town is within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Allow plenty of time as there’s so much to see and enjoy. A lifeboat station, Moot Hall, Martello Tower, the Scallop by Maggie Hambling and so much more. Highly recommended

I'd rather have given no stars but there's no option for that! Where to start! Suffolk Secrets don't seem at all bothered that their service to the customer is rubbish. Once they've got your money they do very little. We were a few doors down from the Aldeburgh office which was shut three days out of the four. I can't seem to speak to anyone and they haven't responded to my emails, one of which is asking for some sort of refund. I sent them 26 photos of dust, cobwebs, balls of hair on the carpet ... the beds had been changed but not much else. We had to wash crockery before using, couldn't use the disgusting kettle, toaster not cleaned, maintenance had to come and WD40 the shower taps so we could use it, no hand sanitizer, no laundry bags, very little loo roll and handwash ... rubbish not taken from the outside shed ... and a huge rat ran across the unkempt back yard and down the drain! DON'T USE SUFFOLK SECRETS! On a positive note, the goodies left were nice and after our first complaint, the cleaner left us flowers, wine and chocolates. Unfortunately, it wasn't the compensation we were looking for. Having a 7 hour window to clean is a joke ... the cleaner still hadn't shown up at 12.30pm on the day we had to be out by 9am! They're a joke!

A few days after writing the above, we did get a refund of 25% of the total cost. Result!

Avoid, avoid, avoid.
Appalling experience.
Worst ever cottage stay.
Firstly be aware, this is not a quaint local company as they would have you believe. Don't expect to call the "local" number and get local service and help. Suffolk Secrets is basically a front for holidaycottages.co.uk, who we try to avoid, for good reason.
The cottage (Appletree cottage) in Westleton was the worst holiday cottage I've ever stayed in by quite some margin.
Firstly it was filthy, not just a bit tired but actually really dirty and disgusting. Crumbs in the worktops, hairs in the bathroom, large cobwebs all over.
The floor was covered in sand and white dog hairs when we arrived.
If there wasn't cleanish towels and bedding in place I would have sworn the cleaner didn't turn up.
The visible mould was such that it triggered my asthma.
There were insect cocoons on the dirty walls.
I actually couldn't sleep for the horror of it.
The furniture was faded and tired, the kitchen was grimy and there were dangerously sharp broken edges.
I have photos.
We would have left but for flooding that no one warned us about.
This was not a cheap cottage by any means but I would have been better off camping.
It turns my stomach to think of it.
Complaints will be made to CAM and Trading Standards as this is an unsafe and dishonest company.

We booked a stay with Suffolk Secrets for Oct 2022. Sadly the accommodation was not cleaned to a standard that i thought was acceptable. dirty spoons, utensils and equipment made our stay less than relaxing. I noted this in the follow up email after our stay though i have not received a reply to date (I bet i do now). A good measure is would you again, we wouldnt!

Booked a one week stay with Suffolk Secrets in August 2023. The property was way below the standard expected this was reported to customer services with the property remaining on their site. Only available contact with customer services is via email! No phone contact and emails are just ignored, appaling aftercare.

I have recently stayed in a house through Suffolk Secrets and left a fair and honest review to help others who may choose to book, unsurprisingly when I have checked the property on the Suffolk Secrets site, my honest review does not appear, only 3 old positive reviews which certainly did not reflect my stay. To anyone booking beware that negative reviews are not shown to allow you to make a considered choice and we found Suffolk Secrets to be unresponsive and unprofessional.

They may be a decent company but not from my single experience. Booked an Airbnb that Suffolk Secrets manage for 2 nights.

They accepted booking and took 50% payment. Suffolk secrets then contacted me saying I need to change it to 3 nights but I only want two.

Spoke to them multiple times and they just tell me I need to resolve it with Airbnb! But I wasn’t the one who changed the terms after accepting the booking/money.

Will see what happens.

The apartment we rented for a week was listed as a "first-floor apartment". The images and description did not mention that there was another apartment above.

This was the first family holiday with my wife, newborn and 2 year old.

There was no soundproofing throughout the property meaning the footsteps and noise from above continuously woke up my children. Without exaggeration, the noise was horrendous and this completely ruined the holiday.

Had the description been accurate, I would not have rented this property.

I have attempted to complain to Suffolk Secrets who have so far been completely dismissive.

Extremely disappointed in this poor customer service and aftercare.
